Thanks Baba and Rainer. Just catching up after a grueling two days on the road. That should teach me to post anything after working all night and then only getting an hours sleep.

I quickly looked at the problem and thought that the constant doubling would result in an even number. So the odd result struck me at first. What I forgot was the one grain of rice on the first day. After posting yesterday I received a call I was waiting for and had to get back to work. I just read the replies now.
