Thanks for your comment SI,
I take your point but it would have been nice if you had included my opening sentence in the paragraph I wrote in your quote i.e. 'with sincere apologies to Mrs Shepherd'. I said this because I was fully aware of the possible embarrassment that my post might raise for her and I have no desire to cause her any grief. But that said once she puts a comments out there, then its out there, and we have the right to comment as is normal here, I am sure she does not expect any special privileges from this board nor for any of us to kowtow to her special position. Yes she is playing a delicate game by posting here but I admire her for doing so.
However, unless I have grossly misunderstood, what we do here is garner information about POET here and turn it into intelligence. Conjecture is inevitably a part of this process just as it is in policing, when building a case requires a scenario and then seeing if that scenario fits the crime. So as a consequence of reading between the lines here there is this little scenario building up in my mind.
I get the distinct feeling that Lee will turn up working for our major partner, this would be under NDA wraps so the company does not have to mention it, which was your concern SI's.
I also get the feeling that AM never actually left his GF office in the Valley and what is happening in the background is that AM's FAB2 principles are steadily being put in place in the development of POET at a Global Foundries FAB, with Lee leading the POET side and working closely at the 3rd party foundry facilities alongside the Synopsis guys. This will all come out in the wash when GF is announced as the mysterious 3rd Party FAB.
Another vision is that Rory Read who stepped down from AMD as CEO in October 2014 and who has close links with GF and AM will be our new CEO. We have been forewarned to expect an announcement in early 2015. Finally whether the recently acquired IBM site in NY State is involved is anyone’s guess but could we end up with the POET manufacturing line here, not too far for Lee to weekend to and GT to cast his magic.
The big question is; are the GF financial backers from the Gulf going to buy us out?
