I am sorry, but I think the one-chip-has-it-all prototype and the 40 nm effort including the ring oscillator and the VCSEL device are two different and independend targets.

Remember Dr. Taylor said at the AGM back in August that the company already had the mask set for the chip. That means, the demo chip is not at 40 nm.
