Simple reasons why

They both needed cash now

They can buy back their warrants @$.75 in another 3 to 4 months when sp could be much higher and still make 10% profit and have the money now.

Sheldon needed to lighten his share count before he could exercise warrants.

Could also be they both saw some bargain basement deals that they could turn a quick profit on. There are lots of them out there right now.

But that's just my take on it.
