For some of us, myself very much included, the share price action does affect our confidence in the company's fundamentals. A fellow poster on a Yahoo private board for a totally different stock, with somewhat similar share price issues, just posted the following, which I think is both funny, and instructive:
"As for the 'Market,' if the market were a person, he would be a clueless, misinformed, overconfident, manic-depressive, pathological liar who is simultaneously trying to seduce you and cheat you - why would anyone with any sense pay any attention to anything such a person was saying? Don't get sucked into the 'Market knows best' fallacy. It absolutely doesn't - especially about any given stock."
