Because in spite of the chance to get rich that selling one's company represents, it should be a moral imperative to sell the company correctly. Selling it in such a way as to facilitate a monopoly will complicate the future of everyone on the planet.
That's at least something the management can control. They cannot control how their technology will be used in the world (for good or ill), but they can control whether it is fairly deployed by those that manufacture devices powered by it.
