Tradergader: What ever happened to POET being too big and diverse to be bought out by one company? Synopsis isn't the big fish I was hoping for.

POET Technologies resp. the POET technology is indeed to big and has way too many applications to be bought out by a single company. We don't want monopolies, do we? (Except our own.) Regarding Synopsys, I don't think they will want to acquire POET Technologies. Synopsys is a software company, and POET Technologies is deep, deep into hardware and solid-state physics.

Of course both companies can and will amend each other very well and depend on each other to a certain degree, so taking mutual stakes might make sense. But Synopsys to swallow POET? No, I don't think so.

Anyway, the POET management made it very clear that their plan is to grow as an independent company. I like that!
