When we consider all the POET developments (technical and management structural changes etc) since the new management change in June 2012 and the recent collaboration with Synopsys (TCAD World Leader) and the "Foundry" .... it certainly appears the stage is being set for a huge POET unveiling event to the semiconductor world.

The 100nm has quietly past us by and the 40nm initiative is clearly very strategic.

By achieving the 40nm feature size for the full range of POET (PET) devices via the "FAB", in conjunction with the 40nm Advanced Modelling capability via Synopsys, POET Technologies, in collaboration with Sysnopsys and the Fab will have the proven ability to :-

Model, Design, Manufacture and Supply POET (PET) based System on Chip (SoC) solutions to ALL OEM companies.

Furthermore, at 40nm capability, the majority of existing Silicon CMOS production lines in the world, with minimal additional capital investment, will be given a brand new life line (a significant extension of capital equipment life) by being able to easily and relatively seamlessly, produce POET based solutions.

There are literally billions and billions of dollars of production capital equipment in the world today which would soon be rendered obsolete, if the Silicon CMOS path to 24nm, 14nm and 7nm feature size is pursued; with the additional impact of billions and billions of dollars of new capital investment requirements (Samsungs $15B facility slated for 2017 is an example).

With POET ... most of this existing equipment is no longer facing the obsolescence cliff.

THIS WILL BE HUGE NEWS.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that POET Management (specifically Peter and Adjit) are displaying the perfect Poker Face. They are holding their cards very close to their chests, whilst quietly and strategically putting all the necessary and critical foundation blocks in place that will protect POET Technologies and POET's Process IP; thereby enabling the company to navigate these shark infested waters and allow POET to grow into a monster company.

As the good Dr. Taylor said, "All roads will lead to POET" in what is an absolutely massive industry.

So we wait for the first of many NRE deals, the main PDA, 40nm Modelling completion and 40nm FAB confirmation.
