Little guy, I think Manocha was trying to convey that a cloak of secrecy is of the utmost importance when dealing with certain people, certain companies, and certain technologies.

Trust is the operative word, and with his reputation on the line he is not about to spill the beans when he knows full well it must be the right time to divulge certain information to the market - and ensure all parties are on board with any naming of names.

Would the possible partner walk away? If trust is broken, maybe. The point is, why risk a relationship when there is nothing to gain..........yet? Very prudent to keep everyone on the same page - hence NDA's are common-place in our industry.

I'm sorry, but if you re-think Manocha's comments perhaps you'll see the wisdom in them.
