Current NRE $ in Semiconductor Development

I came across this information when I was researching "NRE". It provides some insight into the costs associated with further development of silicon chips.

FJ mentioned the NRE for POET would be substantially higher than the government grants received in the past. I think the numbers in this article, although for silicon chips, and for nodes smaller than 40nm, could be used as a guide for NRE $ for POET's disruptive technology.
