Of course the reference to "14nm A9 FinFET processors" is based on the information/speculation about whats going into the iphone 7 as of July 1, 2014. Lots can change between Jul1/14 and Sept/15, and I'm pretty sure Michael Humphries, like you and I aren't aware of all the talks happening behind the curtain.
