EXACTLY.

you can put forth any argument that can be supported by facts, there's nothing wrong with having a different or unpopular opinion.

but to constantly barrage the entire community with baseless or repeated negativity is not acceptable.

for anyone to whom it matters, there's much more to it than meets the eye: over weeks and even months, multiple attempts to reason with the user by several moderators did not succeed.

unfortunately, until Agoracom gives us a "go to your room!" tool, a ban is the only thing available when all else fails. yes, it's crude and blunt, but it's not like the user was unaware.

you don't get to spray sh!t at the wall here every day, just to see what sticks.
