From the 2012 ipad launch....
Last week I monitored social media conversations around the new iPad launch and shared the live results from our booth at CeBIT. Monitoring the conversations in real time allowed us to see how technology experts and the hardcore Apple fan base were absorbing the information and passing judgments on what they liked and disliked about the product.
Experts and fans weighed in on everything from the new HD and retina display features, and positive reviews about the battery life and 4G LTE capabilities to disappointment over processor capabilities. These impressions were fed directly to our booth at CeBIT via their social command center and to the German and European public via ZDF (the video segment begins at the 22:44 mark).
The initial reaction from the most active and engaged Apple consumers and thought leaders on the web generated 543,898 conversations about the new iPad. The collective voice of these individuals would inform the opinions and possibly the purchasing intentions of millions of Germans watching that newscast. That’s really powerful stuff.
