Marketing 101

In my position, one of the responsibilities I have is to collect information related to our marketing plans. Now this could be for a specific product, a specific campaign or for our database in general.
With that in mind, and with the fact that comments have been made regarding Apple, for example. As well, I do understand that PTI would not necesssarily be doing the marketing but someone like a GF would. So I want to give you an idea how we attempt to identify, fill and monitor needs for product manufacturers. Without giving any state secrets. In this case we do our own in house, as would a GF.
If we have a new product and through consultation with engineering, design, sales and accounting departments, we feel someone like an Apple could use it, then we assemble a docufile to assist in design and implementation of a marketing program. Being a bit different than a program that an independent house advertiser would design, ours would be more specific to technical advantages etc.
So lets say GF wants to approach an Apple, Apple then being receptive after seeing and hearing of POETs prowess, and testing the product. Between consistent and regular meetings amongst the stakeholders they decide on a price and an on delivery amount of product and time lines for delivery.
Now GF and Apple have to co-design a marketing plan. What makes this easy is the huge advantage that POET has so many saleble features. It can be marketed from a green standpoint with respect to miserly power use. Speed of computing, size and space requirements that allow more ``widgets`` to be built into the receiving product. More apps, more music, more pictures, better camera, better sound, better in most every case and usage. This what excites me most is how saleable it is.
So really, a dream product to market. No real drawbacks, no negatives, no societal flaws, clean flowing through income brackets, cultural and racial lines, national and international advantages. Packaging for this is also a dream to a marketer. Inlays, decals, script, box shape and colour. Anything with POET inside is and will be a dream to market and sell.
