A cooperation between GlobalFoundries and POET Technologies would in no way render GF's other business void, at least not immediately. GF (or any other foundry) would add the POET technology to its existing portfolio but not throw away everything else. We have not yet quite reached the point where customer demand for silicon-based solutions has dropped to zero.
