Big thanks ST!

This is one question I had that I forgot to ask and I've been kicking myself ever since. I've always wondered why "Full POET" came before PET when PET is only a subset of POET.

It stands to reason when the market is ready for optical integration there will be a third TDK with models for the optical components of POET. Of course we won't see this for some time since even PET will give the market something new to learn and use for years.

It was interesting listening to Stephane explain that the only structure available for use for EVERYTHING up to now has been transistors. Again referring back to the LEGO analogy Mike White first used at the 2012 AGM, many of us remember our LEGO sets when we were young consisting mainly of 1x1, 2x1, 2x2, and 2x4 pieces in various colours. You can make a variety of structures with these pieces, but there's a limit to what you can make with very little variation in the usual products (houses, cars, etc.)

POET/PET introduces other device structures, such as the thyristor, which was conceived decades ago but never made to work. With POET you have better performing transistors which everyone in industry readily recognizes and can work with, but with these new devices we now have more varied common products and also products that couldn't exit prior to POET.

Exciting times! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oF0pMILT7_Y
