Rocky quoted P2:
"Commercial applications of the technology will likely not be available for several years,if ever"
To which FJ then responded: That statement is in every MD&A... It is a standard precautionary statement."
Fairchij, I'm sure you've read a lot more MD&A's than I have, but the ones I have read that would pertain to a company at POET's stage, usually have the following CYA, cautionary statement:
"There can be no assurance when, if ever, the Company's technology will become commercial."
That CYA I can feel comfortable with, as I'm used to seeing stuff like that. But the above quoted by Rocky, "Commercial applications of the technology will likely not be available for several years,if ever" that's different, and expresses a likelihood of something that is very different than management led investors to believe. Even if it was just the NRE that was going to come by the end of the year, which, by the way, wouldn't help us too much, the actual commercialization of the tech was at the very least implied to come certainly sometime well before "several years."
What's up with that comment in the P2, then? Am I off base here, if so, please, anyone, let me know.
Also, although I felt P2 would not be a big price mover, I have to admit being surprised that we went down significantly on that news. I mean, they did their best to throw a credible number out there, and we got slammed anyway.
Finally, I wish people woutd stop the worship of SI that I've seen here for many months. Not impressed with him at all, seems as clueless as many of the rest of us, stock-playing-wise.
