Bluecollardollar: People compare poets model to ARM, which I dont think is right. Arm actually designs chips for consumers and sources out the manufacturing. Poet doesnt really talk about designing chips. They talk about licensing the fabrication process.
That's right. What I would like to see is POET and ARM joined together in a PDA, where POET is providing the building blocks ("devices", Lego bricks) and ARM is combining these Lego bricks to powerful processors. This would be mutually beneficial, because ARM would have new ideas, special requirements for modified or new types of bricks etc. This would a) improve the POET brick set and b) lead to even better CPUs.
