Happy Fourth of July to our American friends.

Forgive me but my old regiment 'The Royal Welch Fusiliers' were the Redcoats that did a lot of the burning in Wahington back then, including the Treasury building. I think perhaps you might have thanked us if we had done that on the day that your tax was being assessed.

We were so involved in the War of American Independance and had such nice uniforms that there is a thriving re-enactment group in America entitled 'The Royal Welch Fusiliers in America' who recreates the battles of that time. I suppose we arrived with red coats and left with red faces. Anyway do enjoy you celebrations today.
