I agree that the "million times" statement is beyond what we've been told, but is a superlative that could be used since this is the military side of the equation, and they just don't spill the beans on what they've got very easily (see MH370).

He was just saying what they've done to this point. Clearly, whatever was behind the "million times" device has some bearing on quantum computing. That seems to fit.

Yes, there seems to be no evidence, thus far, that Lazaridis even is aware of POET, but I would very surprised if he wasn't. He is very connected to this sector and probably knows just about all that is in development.
