Dear TechGC,
I agreee with your anaysis and wish to add the following
There have been a number of occasions when the achievment of MS has not had the hoped for effect on SP, I like you am in the camp that says the share price does not matter at this stage, its the progess made towards the end product that does. Nevertheless we all can enjoy a SP boost and for my personal credibilty, with friends who invested near the last peak, the SP does need a journey North. I live in hope, (curiously the next village to my home is called Hope; perhaps Ishould move)
What I particulalrly like about TechGC's analysis is his point about the 'potential partner' behind the request for 100nm scaling. It important for investors to see MS 8 as more than a technical milestone, it is a pointer that a signifcant partner is impressed enough to get involved.
For me because of GT remarks in the 'article' I also read into his remarks, that it is not so much that 100nm is the key factor but that POET is scalable. GT stated that POET's scalability is feasible down to 10nm or 5 nm. Silicon fixated companies are investing hugely to achieve this but others who do not have the margins to afford to undertake such investment they will see POET as the future. i.e. in my terms 'we can blow the opposition out of the water'. Timing is critical and they must and are getting on with it, and hopefully some affirmation of progress will come soon.
I say again that MS 8 and 100nm is just one point on a graph of ever faster POET chipped machines. Get the chip out there and we have a long future.
