Why would Pinetree get into this at this point knowing POET could make this value proposition completely irrelevant with the speed POET will produce with likely one core?

Furthermore this problem has already been solved. RapidMind built a development platform to take advantage of multi-core processors and they were bought out by Intel in 2009. My friend was one of the founders of the company and the platform is still being used today. Don't understand this move.
