Andech: Once we have heared from Dr. Taylor at EC that Poet is unique: Could there nevertheless be somewhere a "hidden competitor" as far as regards photnics?

As you point out yourself, Taylor has been asked this question at the ECC and he has given his answer. Why do you think anybody here would have any deeper knowledge on this subject than him?
