I've heard that most of the technologies that are currently known and used widely, usually existed in military field 15 years before they were allowed to be put in consumers products.

So, essentially, when a new technology hits general market it is safe to conclude it was invented about 15 years ago.

If this is true, POET technology must be proven by now, so it is safe to invest in it.
