I do, however, have a problem with this statement:

My thinking goes like this; Dr. T. does not want to sell to INTEL, clearly, and there aren't many bigger than that. So why can't POET remain autonomous? With the share structure the way it is I can't see a hostile take-over being successful. Furthermore, Sheldon may not want to have to go the long distance route to gather his fortune, but as you stated yourself, his auto-filling ATM is a lot bigger than ours and will likely make him and his shareholders very happy.
I'm not naive enough to believe everything the company says, but in this particular instance, given what Dr.T said at the EC, I do believe they will licence the tech until the big offer arrives. But how big an offer will it have to be for a product that can easily dominate the semi-conductor industry for the next 2-3 decades, perhaps longer? A single company, I doubt, can afford us; a consortium, perhaps.
Either way, I agree, we're not taking a bus to Vegas...I'm thinking Netjets.
