And you had done your DD and come to the conclusion that POET was the short and long term solution, what would be your best case acquisition scenario?
I've thought about it a lot...and the 100nm "side project" really made me think about the short, mid and long term nature of what's possible with POET, and how the stars may be aligning.
If it was me, I would simply take the whole thing for a reasonable sum and immediately start adopting the technology for my company's product range and capitalize on all the competitve advantages, in particular, the decreased power usage. (IE Coppetti's once a week phone charging statement) This would be the most immediate consumer benefit. If you told your customers that they would only have to charge their devices once a week, you would instantly have a huge competitive edge.
Then, only after I've dominated all my verticles, and while fabs are being created to mass produce the POET platform, I would then start to create my own licensing agreements within the industry as a seperate entity. Best case scenario for POET shareholders, is they would benefit from a boat-load of cash up front, and then later, the subsequent licensing deals. Almost like double dipping. Having cake, and eating it too.
