I remember watching this video a couple of years ago and think of it every time I hear someone refer to Opel's past as a solar company. I got the impression that quite a few people think that Dr. Taylor had a eureka moment and discovered the fact that he could use his solar cells to produce lasers and thus the POET platform was born. Maybe I was reading to much into some posts but I do remember one person(I forget who at the moment) writing that almost verbatim.

I'm sure some here may have seen this before but it is worth another look. And for newcomers and those that haven't seen it, it gives a good primer on POET Technologies' (Opel) background.
