According to many sources, including Peter Cochetti, interim CEO of Poet and Dr. Geoff Taylor, Chief Scientist for Poet, compared to what exists in the chip world to date, Poet's galium arsenide chips are....

faster,

draw less power,

generate less heat,

are cheaper to build, and

can be built on existing foundry set ups.

All on a monolithic integrated platform that significantly reduces the number of chips needed for the same operations. Technology Demonstration Kit Documents outlining all of the above were released to interested firms under NDAs a few weeks ago.

I mentioned Peter and Dr. Taylor in my opening because there is no way that either of these fellas (or anybody else associated with Poet, either officially or tangentially), would dare make these claims or release the TDKDs if the facts were not so.
