Deuceman, Sheldon's been buying both for himself and for Pinetree. Yes you are right that he must have heard something to make him sell before when the solar was going down the crapper. He seems to care about his money and he took care of it by selling. Flip side, if he cares about his money and he's on a Poet buying spree I would have to say there is nothing to fear.
