Apple on the acquisition warpath?

I don't know if this has been posted here already, you guys post a lot throughout the day and I can't always keep up with the smount of traffic.

Apple is rumoured (certainly nothing public yet, but the rumour has been posted through a number of news outlets) to be in talks to aquire Renasas.

Based on the article though, and POET being a North American company it doesn't seem likely that Apple would be interested in bringing their cash pile into North America.

Samsung on the other hand has been reported throughout 2013 to need to start acquiring to continue to grow, and based on their current reporting -- their conservative management hasn't turned into anything from a major acquisition standpoint.
