I find sometimes maybe a day or two after a news release and when the stock has close to run out of steam the shorters or whoever will put in big bids and big asks at much higher prices sometimes (sort of sucking in the innoscent for one last rally) and before the bell they will pull those big bid/ask and start selling into the remainding bit of hype that is there on the buy side and then their little game of selling it back down.

I see right now before the open no ask at .46 or 47 ...that will soon get fill in
