My wife and I had a bit of a thought experiment where we imagined POET was presented to Shark Tank or Dragon's Den and we imagined what they would say about it.
Frankly, in the end we decided it wouldn't succeed, despite the potential (we could hear Kevin saying "Intel, IBM and those guys are going to crush you like the cockroach you are!"). SOme of the questions the Dragons would ask are:
- How much money have you made on this idea so far?
- How much of your own money (or investor's money) have you poured into POET?
- If Dr. Taylor meets with his untimely demise, who will carry on in his place?
These are common questions for the show, and indeed I have heard all of these questions asked at the AGM. Well...the last one is kind of delicate, so some were directing the question to others around them...
POET needs a product and a revenue stream for us to get anything near full value for POET. I think we are gearing up for a product announcement and for that we need a VP of product development. So I still side with Aves, and I think we are still for sale.
