I'm not sure any company will want to buy Poet until after Pellegrino 2.0. Why go to the expense/time of doing what Poet is already paying Pellegrino to do?
That's not to say that a company that's sniffing around could not be privately made privy to Pellegrino 2.0 in advance of a buy-out offer.
I'm with others preferring the "license-with-cash-for-life" option.
