Message: This GSF (Gone Somewhere Fishing)

My background is in orthopaedic surgery, not electronics and quantum mechanics. It has meant that I have visited conferences etc. in the US, UK, Germany, France, Scandinavia. They all have a similar format, which is like ly to be repeated at the GSF. They include a large series of lectures devoted to: topics of the day, research, leadership issues, debates and often high profile presentations by recognised leaders of the industry etc. There are lunches, free time, seminars, meeting rooms, and face to face discussions on an ad hoc basis. Importantly, the conference centre will be littered with sponsor stands to be visited throughout the conference. They have always been highly informative for me.

My understanding (I am happy to be corrected) is that PTK is a sponsor at this meeting in Singapore. It is likely PTK will have a presentation stand; it is usually granted as part of a sponsor priviledge. They will staff it with appropriate staff including our acting CEO to discuss the project, progress and developments with those who pass by. Furthermore, it is likely that some, perhaps many, semiconductor experts will already be aware of our company, because if we lay persons know about it, many there should do so too. Publicity prior to this conference is, in my view, critical. Exposure at this conference is likely to include those in the know, those that learn by serendipity, and others and may lead to talking points among other major and smaller companies.

I suspect that any positive effect for PTK shareholders will be delayed in its response unless there is a major company announcement, but essential for the monetising process the board have set as an objective. It is as well to remember this is a very small company in the presence of gigantic, large and medium sized companies too numerous to quantify by guess-work. If this is a breakthrough technology some there may recognise it. I hope and suspect any partnerships, licensing, manufacturing arrangement to come later.

It means there is likely to be a finite wall for the share price until then, with occasional hikes with positive announcements as happened today. A revenue stream is more likely to induce the stratoshpheric rises if and when the production of these "chips" occurs and they are taken up by others. Opportunistic buy-outs must remain a serious risk at this juncture. A conference will increase this risk substantially. We must beware. If you want a 70$ CAD share whose proceeds are spent in Las Vegas, then a buy out now would have to be at 14 billion, even Google might baulk.
