In addition the comparison to the VHS vs Bata doesn't apply here because what POET offers to industry is a very real competative advantage. Device makers could use the power savings [longer time between recharging] to rise above the competition, never mind the improved performance powered by POET could offer. Right now they are trying to gain an edge by dicking around with miniscule design changes. They are desperate!
The economic advantage of this power savings to servers will be even more irrisistable, probably to the tune of billions of $$. If and when this cat gets out of the bag it should morph into a lion, maybe sooner than expected.
