Recently I looked for projections of the global semiconductor market, and I found numbers in the $300+ billion region with a nice growth in the next years. This matches nicely with Terafly's resp. Forbes' number.
However, POET has a quite different market size in the 20-F: "The overall semiconductor market has been projected to grow to $550 billion by 2015 and remains a rapidly growing segment of our economy."
$550 billion is way more than $300 or $350 billion and cannot be reached by usual growth rates. POET refers to IC Insights 2013, but it is not clear whether the market size or the R&D efforts are meant. And I won't spend $$ on the IC Insights study.
Is anybody able to explain? Thank you!
