"Each warrant allows the holder to acquire one additional common share of POET for a period of 2 years at an exercise price of C$1.00 per share."
This was very generous, and with no accellerators that I'm aware of.
Keeping in mind that there are 7,692,308 warrants attached to this PP. That represents a fair deal of potential frustration for us down the road when we are hopefully trading north of a buck. How many rallies will be dampened or snuffed out completely when massive amounts of cheap shares are put on the ask side? It'll be quite enough for the market to try to absorb all the paper that's been issued as options and financing shares, never mind all these warrants. I hope we get some massive volume days to help clear some this off the board and get these puppies into good, loving homes.
In fairness there is a plus side, it'll put some money into the treasury.
Because we don't yet know the circumstances that prompted this financing its too early to judge how good or bad of a deal this was. I hope it turns out that they drove a hard bargain because this will most likely be much the same team that will be in the ring with the big boys when it comes time to bargain deals that will affect all of us.
I give them full marks for letting this PP catch us off guard. If even a whiff of this had leaked into the market ahead of time it would have kept the SP down and I'm certain the .50 wouldn't have been raise to .65.
