In addition to the USD 2B they used to purchase SoftLayer last year, they are said to be spending USD 1.2B to open 13 new data centres in 2014 taking their total to 40. This in addition to Microsoft and Google who continue to make strides in this domain.

Given the cost saving ramifications that POET could offer, I view this as yet another positive!
