Correct - this is not a comparative technology to POET. This is not a Planar Opto-Electrical Monolithically Integrated solution.

It could be a potential lower grade alternative to PET, but PET offers faster performance and greater power reduction (cost maybe somewhat similar).

It is certainly not an alternative to POET ...... !!

POET is where the huge BOM cost reduction is obtained whilst also providing all the massive performance improvements.

It is an exciting development but not one that will compete against POET.

Looking forward to 2014.
