The way I understand it, a couple of investors took a position, driving the price up and putting us over the 50 day MA.

So, it was speculative buying, but without the contagion everyone is hoping will come eventually. As was noted by another poster, the volume was higher than average on Thursday, but all told less than $200k changed hands that day. Yet it was enough to make the indicators change from a sell to a buy?!

I think this was the kind of thing MC was talking about when he said basically that TA indicators are garbage on micro caps.

As for these new buyers, I understand that they first looked at the financials prior to their decision to buy and the sight was enough to turn them away. I don't think anyone wants in until there's certainty that POET will earn. It was only after they dug deeper into the story that they decided that this story was too good to pass on.

I think it's possible that Atomic knows this, or found out very early in the campaign to showcase POET and decided to keep the powder dry for now. We were told that Atomic comes with a tremendous institutional following. But they obviously don't follow blindly. When POET does strike a deal I'll assume Atomic will start throwing switches.

Incidentally, these new investors may bring others on board later on, but they won't recommend POET to anyone else until the project is further derisked (e.g., PDA partner involvement, license). This is just one story, but there could be dozens of folks out there with the same strict criteria just waiting for the right moment to jump in. So IMO, just as these new entrants didn't see a difference between buying at 40 and buying at 45, any new investors will see anything under a buck as a gift once POET makes a deal.
