when there is a mismatch between the exchanges a trading entity will play the arbitrauge and buy on the low exchange and sell immediately on the higher....this happens all the time and is the general concept around one type of high freq trading. The higher volumes in the other exchange are due to the main selling on venture and the subsesquent arb play.
