Rob, about a month or 2 ago it was thought that Apple would buy or buy into a fab plant company. It was rumored it would be UMC. However people thought that not to be a good fit for Apple because UMC processing technology is far behind the other major manufactures such as Intel.

Hmm? But suppose Apple were to come up with some really good new technology that could be applied to old fab plants that would need little retooling and end up with a product that is perhaps years ahead of anything these other manufactures have to offer.....I know of a company that has that new technology....I think they call it POET, or something like that..;-)

Just a thought. My mind is working overtime this morning and I'm not getting paid overtime rates.
