Okay, let's assume for a moment as a though experiment that IBM indeed has something that a) is superior to silicon, c) integrates electonics and optics, and c) is close to market-ready. Wouldn't the other Big Boys and Girls not desperately long for something competitive? Well, here is something they could buy or license! Enough said.
