I believe this is the firs time I share my opinion about the company POET Tech. Please remember, this is purley my thoughts and opinions dirived from what company has said (in news releases).
So far the company is doing what it said it would do. Since selling solar part of the company and raising more money (in reallly difficult time for venture companies) POET Tech. is progressing toward a commercialization rapidly.
So we sell solar assets, start to concentrate on POET platform, raised more money, Peter spearheads POET platform with Dr. Taylor (we hire more engineers), hired Lee Shephard and Adam Chowaniec, achived MS 3 "The Laser", raised more money and hired Atomic PR (in February 2013).
In Aprli of 2013,
We welcome Adam Chowaniec and Dr. Taylor to BoD.

statement in 2nd last paragraph "and will change the future development roadmaps of a broad range of semiconductor applications including mobile devices, computer servers, storage arrays, imaging equipment, networking equipment, transportation systems, and test and measurement instruments."
We hired Grayling as IR firm.

statement in 2nd last paragraph "will change the future development roadmaps of a broad range of semiconductor applications including mobile devices, computer servers, storage arrays, imaging equipment, networking equipment, transportation systems, and test and measurement instruments"
In June of 2013 (after AGM):
We get this statement "Once on-line wafer production begins, producing wafers for the continuance of the BAE Systems military IR Sensor proof of concept project due for completion later this year will take precedence."
"Opel also notes that its PR and IR activities with Atomic Public Relations, LLC. and Grayling Communications, Inc. are progressing very well. With OPEL’s assistance, each firm has rapidly grasped OPEL’s product development goals and marketing strategy, then began aggressive development of programs designed to meet OPEL’s marketing and are already showing signs of positive impact."
"In parallel with the PR and IR implementation, OPEL’s monetization activity continues at a rapid pace. A confidential due diligence report detailing the evolution of the POET Platform with the addition of research and development’s latest trial data points will be completed within the quarter. The business development white paper will be made available under Non-Disclosure Agreement (“NDA”) to potential prospective partners and IP Licensees only."

"the establishment of a special committee of the Board of Directors. This special committee, known as the Special Strategic Committee (SSC) has been given the mandate to evaluate strategic alternatives in relation to the sale or licensing of the Company’s proprietary POET platform, to deliver recommendations to the Board, and to carry out any selected transactions to completion as confirmed by the Board. OPEL has not established a definitive timeline for SSC review process but will be assessing all available alternatives over the next few months. It is OPEL’s current intension not to disclose developments with respect to the process, unless and until the Board has approved a specific transaction or otherwise determines that disclosure is necessary or appropriate. The company cautions that there are no assurances or guarantees that the process will result in a transaction."
"Peter Copetti to be the Chair of the SSC. Mr. Copetti was also given the authority to assemble his own team of industry experts, to be used in concert with the OPEL personnel he deems beneficial to achieve the end goal of delivering on the mandate of the SSC. “Peter has been an invaluable asset to the Company since he joined OPEL,” said Mr. Mark Benadiba, Executive Chairman of the Board. “His tenacity of purpose and vision has been the driving force behind the commercial focus of our POET platform, the key to unlocking shareholder value. The Board supported the appointment unanimously and without hesitation.” "
"POET offers the semiconductor industry the ability to push Moore’s Law to the next cadence level, overcoming current silicon-based bottlenecks, and potentially changing the roadmap for a broad range of applications, such as smartphones, tablet and wearable computers."
NOTICED: this is the first time POET Tech. mentions "wearable computers" (in news)
"The POET platform is currently the basis for a number of key commercial and military projects now in the delivery pipeline – including optical code division multiple access (OCDMA) devices for avionics systems, combined RF/optical phased arrays, optoelectronic directional couplers, and ultra-low-power random access memory (RAM). "
NOTIcED: already commercial and military projects in delivery pipeline.

"Mr. Peter Copetti, Executive Director of OPEL, and Chair of the Special Strategic Committee (SSC) for commercialization of the POET platform, noted: “The SSC deemed Milestone 6 to be critical for our commercialization activities, and staff focused on this milestone. That we achieved Milestone 6 so quickly spotlights the caliber of the POET team, and our ability to execute and to pivot to industry needs.”
Mr. Copetti added: “Due to ongoing needs of the SSC, other pre-determined milestones and dates may have to change without notice – but any changes will be consistent with our commercialization mandate.”
NOTICED: isn't this the first time we hear "commercialization" in news?
"will change the future development roadmaps of a broad range of semiconductor applications including mobile and wearable devices, computer servers, storage arrays, imaging equipment, and networking equipment."
NOTICED: "wearable devices" instead "wearable computers"

We hired Dr. Martin Peisl and Geoffrey C. Rogers

In July 2013 we change name to POET Technologies
"Purpose - The purpose of the name change is to better reflect the Company’s business and highlight the POET platform. “The name change to POET Technologies exemplifies the scope of the Company’s current focus and is consistent with Management’s efforts to monetize the POET technology and provide added value for shareholders,” said Executive Director, Peter Copetti.
Semiconductor Technology - The POET (Planar Opto Electronic Technology) Platform is a patented semiconductor fabrication process that uses gallium arsenide technology to combine electronic and optical elements on a single integrated circuit, intended to enable semiconductor manufacturers to make microchips that are far faster and more energy efficient than current silicon devices, and far less expensive to produce. "

In August 2013:
"Board of Directors have endorsed the next phases of the Company’s commercialization plan put forward by the Special Strategic Committee (SSC) chaired by Executive Director Peter Copetti. The multi-pronged approach is based on discussions with potential industry partners and advisers regarding the Company’s two key markets consisting of the military and commercial sector that have been identified as potential early adopters of the POET platform. Currently, while POET’s incorporation in military projects is proceeding well, and should provide value in several key verticals, significant value exists in adapting POET for mass production within a commercial semiconductor fab environment. The Company must rapidly move to the next phase of its commercialization plan, which includes addressing feature size and scalability requirements for commercial fabs. The Board has therefore endorsed, and authorized the SSC to proceed on, these recommendations, including:
- Establishing a POET Development Alliance (PDA)
- Drive for Reduction of Feature Size to 100-nm Range (100NM)
- Adoption of a Shareholder Rights Plan (SRP)
"“While the new feature-size milestone is a challenge given our commitment to projects in our delivery pipeline, I believe the POET team is more than capable of achieving this goal. There is no doubt that POET can demonstrate its n- and p-channel capability to be a viable and scalable complement to silicon CMOS.” "
"By offering components with the potential for increased speed, density, reliability, and lower costs, POET offers the semiconductor industry the ability to push Moore’s Law to the next cadence level, overcoming current silicon-based bottlenecks, and potentially changing the roadmap for a broad range of applications.

Remeber industry articles, where Dr. Taylor and Peter talk about projects in pipeline for fall? That's right.
Do you remember Chris saying that Atomic and Grayling will be working "behinde our backs", meaning we will not see all their work? remember all this? keep that in mind.
So, please enjoy the rest of the summer with your family and friends. When fall comes in and school starts we shall see some kick start to our sp.
As soon as a partnership or jv or whatever else you call it is announced, as long as POET Tech gets its' name writen along some other company our sp will get a boost.
But we still have to wait for all this.
cheers
