IF POET Technologies is SOLD to a larger entity those stock options become exercisable and thus are sold as common shares to the suitor. The date of expiry does not matter if the company is SOLD.
Also, I am not sure who was asking, but Peter Copetti did not say anything about stock options, he was referring to the company NOT requiring anymore financing, albeit equity or debt.
BTW, the stakeholders agreed to the 8+ Million stock options at the last AGM. Tongue n Cheek; like we had another option.
How many of those 8 million stock options have been exercised????
