I do remember a comment someone made regarding the POET process being able to build chips that could do all optical computing. I tried to find a reference to include but can't recall specifically where I remember it from. (Could be from last years AGM videos or just a comment someone posted from a conversation)

I ran accross this news about the optical transistor from MIT yesterday in a different article. I'll post the link below. I dismissed it as a concern after reading the whole article. Its quite apparent from this one that they are still years away from anything close to what POET can offer.

I'd be interested in hearing some confirmation on what I remember about POET's ability to do all optical computing.
