Going to chime in on this off topic conversation here just to clarify some thing.
Currently Boem is working on building a 3D printer to print entire Air frames.
I did a quote for a company that is using 3D scans translated into .stl files that are then used to print using meterials as hard as steel pumps with rotery blades inside used in industrial plants for less then the cost of traditional means.
3D printing is allot farther along then you think ZincFinger.
There is also talk of a 3D pritner being put in space that will use nickle gas to print harder then steel items for future instelations, power generation stations and parts for further space exploration. That I will agree is very far in the near future.
At this current time I think Ogee is definetely on to some thing in that he is looking for a good spot to put winnings ie a cutting edge 3d printing company.
Only trouble is the 3D printing industry is going to expand at a crazy fast rate with emerging tech coming out faster then we can blink. For example here is a company that is using basic plastic in a 3D printer you can purchase for only 350$ with an acuracy rate of .4mm That is insane acurate for a consumer product under 1000$

If you do some searching you will see that they are printing some amazing stuff for 'just about every industry in a wide range of meterials one of wich I find pretty amazing. Titanium!!
any ways.. cool discussion on a day when there is really not much to talk about.
