I've been thinking about where I'd like to put my payout when POET is sold. Here's an article talkting about another "disruptive" technology I've been following for a while:

I personally wouldn't jump in on this stock, but I'm trying to think of ways I can cash in on what some are calling the next industrial revolution: 3d printing.
Imagine having a personal prototyping machine in your home! You could download plans for anything and "print" it out. When you are done with it, you could salvage the material for use in another item you need later.
I first became interested in it when I read about an open source project called "RepRap". The goal is to eventually make a 3d printer that can replicate itself with just the raw materials fed into the printer (it's not even close to that goal yet). What could happen is that one home in a community fronts the cash to purchase the first printer and then proceeds to print more printers for anyone else in the community who wants one. Eventually everyone would have one.
