Orvana Minerals shareholders appoint seven-member board

ORVANA ANNOUNCES RESULTS OF ANNUAL SHAREHOLDERS' MEETING, DIRECTORS' APPOINTMENTS
Orvana Minerals Corp. has provided the results following the annual general meeting of the shareholders of Orvana held on Feb. 26, 2014, in Toronto.
The following nominees were elected as directors of Orvana:
Mr. McMullen serves as a principal and non-executive director of BBA, a private Canadian engineering services company. He is also a non-executive director of Minera SA and previously served as a director of Fire River Gold Corp., IGE Resources AB and Highland Gold Mining Ltd. Prior to that Mr. McMullen held various positions with Barrick Gold, ultimately serving as a senior vice-president. Mr. McMullen holds a BSc in applied sciences (metallurgy), is a professional engineer (PEng) and completed a master degree of applied sciences in mineral processing from Laval University.
Jorge Szasz did not stand for re-election to the board of directors and the board and management would like to thank him for his years of contributions and support.
"The appointments of Messrs. Bogden and McMullen to Orvana's board of directors will further strengthen our board and we look forward to their contributions," said Michael Winship, president and chief executive officer of the company.
The company also reports the reappointment of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PWC) as the company's independent auditor. PWC has been the auditor of the company since September, 2004.
