First Narrows Adds to Growing Portfolio of Tungsten-Molybdenum Properties
VANCOUVER, BC, Nov 20, 2007 (MARKET WIRE via COMTEX News Network) -- First Narrows Resources Corp. (TSX-V: UNO) (PINKSHEETS: FNRWF) (the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has entered into an option agreement to acquire the Zealand tungsten-molybdenum-beryllium (W-Mo-Be) prospect situated 30 km northwest of Fredericton, the capital of New Brunswick.
Wolframite, molybdenite and beryl mineralization occurs along the contact of the multiphase Devonian Hawkshaw Granite (similar in age and composition to the Falls Creek property Dungarvon Granite where the Company is currently exploration drilling for W, Mo and Cu). The mineralization is exposed in outcrop over an area 150 meters by 50 meters remaining open on-trend beneath overlying till, soil and vegetation. Quartz veining intrudes the granitic rocks, and alteration phases include sericitization, greisenization and propylitization. Beryl is present intergrown with silicates within the granite matrix and within greisen and quartz veins (i.e. beryl mineralization does not appear to be structurally controlled); molybdenum is within greisen and quartz veins and in fracture/shear zones of the granite, and wolframite is found within the granite matrix. Historical sampling returned values ranging from < 5 to 1100 ppm Mo, < 20 to 140 ppm W, and < 30 to 71800 ppm BeO (beryllium-oxide). Locally, tourmaline and beryl crystals occur up to tens of millimeters in length in pegmatite.
The Zealand property has been acquired under option from Lyman Lawrence. The Company has the right to earn a 100% interest in the claims by issuing 150,000 common shares and making cash payments totalling $100,000, over a 3-year period. Lawrence retains a 1.5% NSR, 50% of which the Company may purchase at a cost of $500,000 cash or stock equivalent. The Company has staked a further 16 claims adjoining the Zealand property, which have been novated into the Option Agreement.
The Company is proceeding with a mineral potential assessment and exploration proposal technical report on the property, which is being prepared in accordance with National Instrument 43-101.
Mr. Earnest Brooks, P.Geo., is the Company's Qualified Person for the Zealand property. Mr. Brooks was formerly a Mine Geologist at the Patino Mines Copper Rand Mines Div. in Chibougamau, Quebec, and a mining operations geologist and exploration geologist at the BMS mines in Bathurst from 1975 to 1990.
The Company plans on moving the drill to the Zealand prospect upon completion of the current drilling program on its Falls Creek W-Mo property.
